To make a better overview over the first three years C64-Computergamehistory I collected 50 from the importantst games from these years and recompressed them for this number.
Newcomer or people who hasn`t a big relation to the C64 have a good start with this collection. But even the people who have all the first 199 Videos should look at them. All videos are recompressed in a better quality and some videos are played new and in a faster way.

Update October 2010
I've added 10 videos to this collection. These games haven`t such the influence like the first 50 but were popular enough to add them as bonus to this collection.

And in the case you have no idea from videocodecs; I advise the cinepackversion from these videos.

Subject: Lode Runner
As a former Lode Runner devote, I am impressed by the skill shown in this replay. It looks easy when a perfect game is played! Lode Runner was the best game of that era. It was essential that games not be too complex otherwise the graphics didn't look good, PC's of the era couldn't compete with true arcade games. Lode Runner has an elegant set of simple rules, a clean graphics look, and infinite possibilities of levels and challenges. I loved picking levels randomly through the 150 available. It was a game playable by young and old, non-violent, no military, sort of like Tetris (no accident, the creator of Tetris said Lode Runner was his favorite game).
